Description
No. 23 Colliergate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of orange-brown brick laid in English garden-wall bond and features a timber moulded and dentilled eaves cornice. It has a slate hipped roof with a brick chimney.
The exterior has a three-storey, five-bay front. The shopfront is framed by pilasters and has a dentilled cornice supported by carved brackets, with a glazed door situated between two 2-light plate glass windows. The first floor has 8-pane sash windows, while the second floor features 4-pane sashes, all equipped with moulded sills and flat arches made of brick. There is a painted stone band at the second floor level. The interior has not been inspected.
