Description
No. 22 Colliergate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built around 1700, with alterations made in the late 18th century and a rear extension added later. The building features orange-brown brick laid in Flemish bond, while the extension is in English garden-wall bond. The roofs are covered with pantiles and have brick stacks.
The exterior consists of three storeys and an attic, with a two-window gabled front. The first floor has 12-pane pivoting windows, the second floor has a similar 16-pane window, and the attic features a 16-pane sash window. A timber wall plate is visible above the first-floor windows, and there are vestigial segmental arches of brick over the second-floor and attic windows. Raised brick bands of two courses are present on the second floor and attic. At the rear, there is a three-storey extension with 12-pane sash windows.
Inside, a timber-framed party wall with No. 21 is visible on the second floor.
