Description
No. 30 Shambles is a shop and workshop that dates from the mid-18th century and was partly rebuilt and restored in 1952. It is constructed of orange-brown brick in a random bond pattern, featuring timber boxed eaves and a pantile roof. The exterior has a two-storey, two-window front. The shop is accessed through a small-pane door located in a passage to the left. The shopfront facing The Shambles includes pilasters with imposts, a cornice, and a small-pane window. The first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes with flat arches made of orange brick, adorned with painted keyblocks. Above the shopfront, there is a raised brick band consisting of two courses. A rainwater head, initialled TC and dated 1763, is situated in the center of the renewed eaves guttering. The interior has not been inspected.
