Description

Hollytree House is a house dating from the mid- to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with a French tile roof. The house has a central-hallway entry and two cross wings to the rear. The two-storey, three-bay front features a six-panel door with an overlight, set within a Doric doorcase. The door is flanked by 19th-century canted bay windows with four-pane sashes, which cut into the first-floor band. The first floor has four-pane sashes set beneath soldier arches. The building has a stepped eaves course, gable coping, and end stacks. Inside, there is a moulded plaster cornice and a six-panel door in the left-hand reception room. A staircase features an open string and column-on-vase balusters. The right gable end has been rebuilt at attic level.
