Description
The Orangery at Heslington Hall, located approximately 50 metres to the south-west of the house, is a structure likely built in the mid-18th century, with heightening and alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features a glass roof. The building is single storey and consists of five bays. An ashlar band runs along the structure, and there is an arcade of five round-arched bays, with the central bay serving as the entrance, featuring glazed doors. The other bays have 12-pane windows with radial glazing at the top. An ashlar impost band is present, along with a dentil cornice. The roof is adorned with a wrought-iron filigree ridge.
