Description
8 and 10 Bootham is a house that has been converted into two shops. It dates from the mid-18th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick, with the left side painted and the right side rendered, and it has a plain tile roof.
The exterior features two storeys with an attic and two bays. No. 8, on the left, has a storey band that is partly obscured by a sign board. The first-floor windows are sashed, and the attic is illuminated by a dormer on the right, which has a horizontal sliding sash. No. 8 also includes a wide shop window and a door on the right with a timber architrave. No. 10 has a shopfront from around 1900, featuring a recessed door on the right. The timber gutter is supported by rectangular brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
