Description

No. 13 Walmgate is a house with a shop, built around 1840. It features painted brick in Flemish bond, a timber shopfront, and boxed gutters, topped with a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The exterior has three storeys and a two-window front. The shopfront includes a two-light window above a panelled riser, with a recessed glazed and panelled door on the left and a passage door on the right, which has an unglazed overlight that still retains its cast-iron glazing bars. The first and second floor windows are 12-pane sashes with slender glazing bars, painted stone sills, and slightly cambered arches. The interior has not been inspected.
