Description
This stable, built around 1820, is located approximately 20 meters northeast of Springwood Cottage. It was likely constructed by the Fowlers of Winterton for the Winn Estate. The building features coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, which are rendered and incised to imitate ashlar. It has a pantile roof and is designed in the Gothick style. The stable is square in shape with a central entrance on the north side and contains three stalls. It is a single-storey, single-bay structure that is symmetrical. Notable architectural details include a plinth, angle pilasters with cross-shaped arrow loops, and a central boarded door beneath a timber lintel. The roof is hipped. This stable is included for its group value with nearby structures.
