SE 7604-7704 EPWORTH STATION ROAD (north-east side, off)

19/90 Barn at Field House Farm approximately 30 metres north-east of Nos 34 and 36 (Field House Farmhouse)

GV II

Threshing barn. Early C19. Orange-brown brick with pantile roof. Rectangular on plan; forms north side of foldyard to north-east of farmhouse (qv). 2-storey height, 5 bays. South side: central round-headed board door with wrought-iron strap hinges beneath brick header arch, flanked by 2 pairs of breather slits to each side. Above, a diamond-shaped breather over the door, flanked by 2 pairs of similar breathers. Dentilled brick eaves cornice. Stone-coped gable with shaped kneelers to left; right gable overlain by adjoining building which is not included in the listing. North side: inserted central board door beneath timber lintel and original round brick arch, flanked by 2 pairs of breather slits to each side; above, a diamond-shaped central breather, flanked by single pitching hatches with board doors on wrought-iron strap hinges, and paired breather slits. Interior: 5-bay king-post roof with 2 tiers of side purlins. Adjoining ranges are not included in listing.
