Description

This is a threshing barn built in the early 19th century, located approximately 30 metres north of Number 110 on Belton High Street. The barn is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof, with a small section of corrugated asbestos on the west side. It stands two storeys high and forms the north side of a farmyard.

On the north side, there are three tiers of openings. The top tier has four openings, with a central entrance that has a board door on wrought-iron strap hinges beneath a segmental arch, flanked by pairs of breather slits, although the one on the far right is blocked. The middle tier contains two pairs of breathers on each side, with two blocked openings. The top tier features a diamond-shaped breather above the door, flanked by a pair of round pitching eyes to the right and a single similar eye to the left, which has 20th-century glazing. The eaves cornice is dentilled brick, and the raised gables show tumbled-in brickwork.

On the south side, there is a central door similar to that on the north side, with a pair of inserted windows to the right. Above this door, there is a diamond-shaped breather, with a pair of breather slits to the right. The left end of the barn adjoins a stable and dovecote range that is not included in the listing. The east gable end, which faces the street, has a pair of X-shaped breathers on the ground floor, a blocked round pitching eye above, and is flanked by a pair of similar X-shaped breathers, one of which is largely blocked. There is also a small cross-shaped breather in the gable.
