Description
This is a threshing barn built in the late 18th to early 19th century for the Winn Estate. It is rectangular in shape and forms the north side of a crew-yard. The barn is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with red brick dressings and has a pantile roof.
On the north side, the barn is two storeys high and has four bays. It features quoins and an elliptically-arched cart entrance located to the right of the centre. This entrance has been blocked with later 19th to 20th-century brickwork and a board door. To the left of this entrance, there is a ground-floor board hatch door beneath a timber lintel. Above, there are two round-headed pitching hatches with ashlar sills and board doors that have strap hinges. The eaves are stepped brick, and the roof is hipped. All openings are surrounded by brick.
The south elevation includes a round-arched entrance with a board door, three slit vents to the right, and four slit vents above. There are adjoining buildings to the west and south that are of no special interest. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
