Description
Nos 83 and 85 on Fleetgate are late 18th century or early 19th century buildings. They are two storeys tall, constructed of brick with a pantile roof and feature three brick chimney stacks. The façade has five windows, one of which is blocked. The windows have rusticated lintels and hung sashes with glazing bars, except for one. The ground floor has three similar windows without glazing bars. The doorway has panelled reveals, a half-glazed door, and a door with two fielded panels. It is topped with a rectangular fanlight and flanked by grooved narrow pilasters, with a small flat hood supported on brackets above. The buildings also feature a diagonal-set brick eaves cornice. Nos 65 to 73 (odd), Fleetgate Post Office, and Nos 77 to 85 (odd) Fleetgate House form a group with these buildings.
