Description

The dry dock located on the south side of Charlotte Street in Kingston upon Hull dates from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid and late 19th century and the 20th century. It is primarily constructed of brick, which is mostly rendered, and features ashlar copings and some concrete patching. The dock has a rounded west end and includes steel mitre gates with a stepped sill at the river end. On either side of the dock, there are two ledges with ashlar copings. The structure measures approximately 45 meters long and 15 meters wide. This building is an early example of a typical harbour structure.
