Description

Haworth House is a mid-18th century house, originally residential, and later used as vacant offices. It was altered in 1887 and restored with additions around 1990. The house is constructed of brick, with a rendered rear elevation, ashlar dressings, and a renewed pantile roof featuring coped gables and a single gable stack. Moulded wooden eaves, a gutter, and brackets are present. The building is three storeys high with a seven-window front. The upper floor has seven six-pane sashes. The second floor has renewed twelve-pane sashes, each set within a brick flat arch and keystone. The ground floor features a central brick doorcase made of sandstone, with an entablature and pediment dated 1887 and inscribed “National Works.” The entrance is via a fielded six-panel door. Flanking the doorway are three windows on either side.
