Description
The entrance gateway and flanking walls at Lee's Rest Houses were built between 1912 and 1915 by H.T. Hare for the trustees of Dr. C.A. Lee's will. Constructed from brick and ashlar with ashlar dressings, the gateway features a pair of square brick gatepiers topped with ashlar vase finials supported by volutes. It is flanked by a pair of wrought-iron gates. The concave flanking walls have short straight returns, square piers, and pyramidal caps, along with a plinth and slab coping. The right curved wall includes a small gateway. This structure serves as an ancillary building to Lee's Rest Houses and is included for its group value.
