Description
The South East Lodge with gates and railings, located approximately 200 metres south-west of Lee Place, is an early 18th-century gate lodge constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and is now double-depth. The north elevation, which faces the drive, features a central half-glazed door with a plain architrave. The gable facing the public highway has a projecting end stack finished in ashlar, with a small window containing leaded panes inserted beside the stack. The other gable, which faces Lee Place, has a glazing bar sash window in a plain architrave. The raised verges have flat copings and a plain eaves band. There are plain iron railings and gates with spearhead standards attached to the right. A 20th-century extension in a similar gabled style has been added to the rear, forming a parallel range with a door projecting to the left.
