Description
The Old Grammar School, built in 1837, is a single-storey school constructed from coursed squared rubble with slate roofs, designed in the Gothic Revival style. The right section, which serves as the school room, features a door with three painted panels to the right, set beneath a hood mould. There are three tall windows, each adorned with a hood mould, stone mullions, and glazing bars arranged in groups of three, with painted top panes. This section has a low-pitched hipped roof.
The left part of the building has a flat-headed door to the right, which is ribbed and has four-centred panelling. To the left, there are two windows with glazing bars, all under hood moulds, and this section is topped with a steep-pitched roof. Notably, the lintel of the central window in the right part is inscribed with "Ann Walker's Foundation 1667."
