Description
Bishop Burton Grange is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, which is rendered and colour-washed on the main block, while the linking wings and pavilions are colour-washed only. The building features graduated slate roofs.
The main block has two storeys and a symmetrical elevation with three bays. It includes a four-panel door with an overlight set in a pilastered doorcase, flanked by four-pane sash windows with sills. On the first floor, there are three similar sash windows. The house has louvred shutters throughout and a hipped roof with end stacks.
The linking wings each have two storeys and a single bay. The left wing has a four-pane sash window, while the right wing features a two-light casement window, both with louvred shutters and situated beneath an oculus window with radial glazing.
The pavilions each have two-light casement windows with sills and louvred shutters. They are topped with pyramidal roofs that have iron finials. Additionally, there is a spiral chimney on the rear wall of the right pavilion.
