Description

The Rudston War Memorial is located on the edge of the village along the main Bridlington-Malton road (the B1253), facing the churchyard of All Saints Church, which is a Grade I listed building and home to the scheduled Rudston monolith. The memorial features a simple white-painted stone cross approximately 6 meters high, with a splayed plinth set on a four-stage square base. A brass plate embedded in the plinth displays an inscription in raised lettering that reads: "IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 THESE MEN BORN IN RUDSTON (names, with regiments, including a munitions worker) AND THOSE WHO DWELT THERE (names) GAVE THEIR NAMES FOR THE RIGHT."
