Description
The orangery at Thorpe Hall, built in 1821, is a single-storey structure made of brick with stucco and stone dressings. It features three bays with French windows topped by fanlights that have radial glazing, all set within moulded wooden architraves in round-headed recesses. The building includes moulded imposts and hood-moulds, as well as a Greek key frieze along the low coped parapet and a hipped roof. Inside, there are slender fluted cast-iron columns supporting the roof's sole-pieces. The orangery and the adjacent billiard room to the left are situated on a stone podium with three steps.
