Description
The Manse is a house built around 1820, originally serving as the manse for the Zion United Reformed Church, which is located to the east. The building is constructed of white brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has a symmetrical elevation with three bays. The structure includes a plinth and a four-panel door with an overlight, set within a panelled reveal and soffit in a pilastered doorcase. On either side of the door are sash windows with glazing bars and sills, all under cambered wedge lintels with alternate raised segments. There is a sill band on the first floor, which also has three similar windows. The roof is hipped, and there are stacks on the rear wall and ridge. Inside, there is an early 19th-century cut string stair with a heavy turned newel, stick balusters, and a slender handrail.
