Description
The bridge over the lake, located approximately 35 meters to the south-west of Burton Constable Hall, is a Grade II listed structure, likely built around 1770 and possibly designed by Thomas White or Capability Brown, with later restorations. It is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in English garden wall bond, featuring ashlar dressings and a cast-iron balustrade. The bridge has five stepped round arches with gauged brick heads and a modillion cornice. The balustrade includes stone piers and balusters adorned with acanthus leaf vases, along with moulded copings. The brick flanking walls have an ashlar band and a plain parapet, with square end piers. At the time of the last survey, the bridge was somewhat dilapidated.
