Description

The monolith located approximately 7 metres north of the Church of All Saints is a significant historical structure, likely dating back to the Bronze Age. Made of grey sandstone, it stands about 8.0 metres high, 1.75 metres wide, and 1.0 metre thick. The monolith has a rectangular shape that widens towards the middle before tapering to a point. It features possible cup and ring marks along with some scoring. This monolith is noted as the largest surviving example in the British Isles and is scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
