Description
The Keepers' House and Offices adjoining the lighthouse in Flamborough were built in 1806 by John Matson of Bridlington for Trinity House. This two-storey structure is made of rendered brick with stone dressings and features a central direct entry. The rear wing encloses the entrance to the lighthouse. The building has five bays arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern and is set on a chamfered plinth. The main entrance consists of a double door with a fanlight above, framed in a plain surround, with the crest of Trinity House displayed on a plaque above. The ground and first-floor windows are 4-pane sashes with stone sills, and there are additional narrower windows on the first floor between the bays to illuminate the stairwells. The building has a stepped cornice leading to a flat roof, with stacks that have plinths and stepped cornices on the rear wall. It is included partly for group value considerations.
