Description
The stable block at Braffords Hall is an early 19th-century structure built from white brick with a graduated stone slate roof. It has a U-shaped plan and consists of two storeys with three bays in each range. The main range features three large, two-leaf boarded carriage doors on the ground floor, each set beneath an elliptical gauged brick arch. Above is a first-floor band, and the first floor includes a central round-headed blank opening, flanked on the right by a 20th-century casement window and on the left by a 15-pane fixed window, both under segmental brick arches. At the top, a central cupola supported by six wooden Tuscan columns carries an entablature beneath a lead dome.
The right wing has a central boarded door with a fanlight featuring glazing bars, set in a round-headed brick arch. To the right of this door is a small lunette window with a sill, and to the left is an 8-pane round-headed fixed window. There is a first-floor sill band, with three two-light sliding sash windows located above, all under segmental brick arches. This wing has a hipped roof.
The left wing features replacement boarded carriage doors, with a boarded door under a round arch to the right. It also has a first-floor band, and the first floor contains three two-light replacement windows under segmental brick arches.
