SKIDBY RIPLINGHAM ROAD SE 93 SE (south side) 6/95 Stable block at Braffords Hall 7.2.68 GV II

Stable block. Early C19. White brick, graduated stone slate roof. U-shaped plan of 2 storeys, 3 bays to each range. Main range: ground floor has 3 large 2-leaf boarded carriage doors each under an elliptical gauged brick arch. First-floor band. First floor: central round-headed blank opening flanked to right by C20 casement and to left by a 15-pane fixed window each under a segmental brick arch. Central cupola of 6 wooden Tuscan columns carrying an entablature under a lead dome. Right wing: central boarded door under fanlight with glazing bars in round-headed brick arch flanked to right by a small lunette with sill and to left by 8-pane round-headed fixed window. First-floor sill band. Three 2-light sliding sashes under segmental brick arches. Hipped roof. Left wing: replacement boarded carriage doors flanked to right by boarded door under round arch. First-floor band. First floor: three 2-light replacement windows under segmental brick arches.
