Description

Bempton House is a house dating from the 18th century, which was refronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered material with stone dressings, a timber eaves cornice featuring paired brackets, and a slate roof. The house has an L-shaped plan and a central lobby-entry. The front facade has two storeys and three windows. It features a moulded stone plinth and rusticated quoins. The entrance has a four-panel door beneath an oblong fanlight with panelled reveals and a soffit, set within a pilastered doorcase and a flat hood. Ground-floor windows have moulded stone architraves with chambranles, and moulded sills and cornices supported by consoles. A moulded sill band runs across the first floor. First-floor windows have eared architraves, and all windows are 16-pane sashes. The roof is hipped with an axial stack and an end stack with one offset. The interior has not been inspected.
