Description

TA 0339 BEVERLEY LADYGATE (east side) 9/78 Nos 19 and 21 31.1.75 GV II Circa 1830 refronting of a long timber framed building of C16/C17 origin. The front elevation of two storeys in painted brick. Steeply-pitched pantile roof with overhanging eaves. Two windows to No 19 have flush framed architraves, hung sashes with glazing bars, of different dates. Panelled framed doorcase with frieze and cornice hood. Door of 6 fielded panels. To the south of this a passage with full-height doors. Two bays of the crown post rafter double roof are exposed, with post on tie beam supporting collar purlin with bracing. This roof structure appears to have remained intact above the C19 alterations. The south end of the front, No 21, is also of painted brick, one window to both floors, flush architrave frames, glazing bars to first floor. Narrow C19 doorway with segmental head, as ground floor window, rectangular fanlight, half-glazed door.
