Description

This is a mid- to late 18th-century house, possibly incorporating an earlier structure, located on the west side of Market Place in South Cave. The house is constructed of colour-washed brick and coursed rubble, with a cast-tile roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central entrance features a glazed and panelled door set within a pilastered doorcase. Flanking the door are two-pane sashes with sills and flat wedge lintels. The first floor has three similar, but narrower, sashes. Chimneys are located at the ends of the building and at the axial point, with the left-hand chimney having tumbled-in brick to a raised gable. The building is included on the listing for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
