Description
The Fox and Coney public house is a building dating from 1739, as indicated by the date on the lintel, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick with a colour-washed finish and coursed rubble, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical elevation with three bays. The central bay projects slightly and features a 20th-century boarded door with a narrow overlight, all set under a flat gauged brick arch that has a projecting keyblock displaying the date. On either side of the central bay are 20th-century inserted bow windows with boarded shutters. On the first floor, there are three 4-pane sash windows with sills. The building has end stacks, and the raised gable to the right shows tumbled-in brickwork.
