Description

Paper Mill House is a mill, later converted into a house, dating from the mid-18th century with a subsequent 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of rubble stone with a brick addition to the earlier section, and brick to the later section, all with pantile roofs. The building comprises an earlier miller's house to the left, and a later mill to the right. The house section is two storeys high with four first-floor windows. It has a 19th-century doorcase enclosing a 2-panel door with an overlight. The windows on the ground floor are a 3-light Yorkshire sash to the left and 2-light and 3-light Yorkshire sashes to the right. The first floor has a brick addition in the first bay, with three 3-light Yorkshire sashes, segmental brick arches over all windows except for the first bay of the first floor, and a stack to the right end. The mill section is two storeys high with four first-floor windows. It has a wheel housing to the right, set within a double-arched opening. There are two blocked openings to the left. The first floor has three windows with glazing bars and a 2-light Yorkshire sash to the right.
