Description

1, Bishopgate is a house dating from the late 1830s, constructed as part of a group designed by the Howden joiner John Shepherd. The house is built of brick in an English garden wall bond, with a Welsh slate roof. It is a symmetrical building with two storeys and three bays. The principal facade features a 20th-century glazed door within a doorcase featuring plain jambs and consoles supporting dosserets and a hood. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, each set beneath channelled wedge lintels with panelled dropped keystones. The roof is hipped. The interior has not been inspected.
