Description
The Saint Vincent Arms is a public house located on Main Street in Sutton on Derwent. It dates from the mid-18th century, although it may have earlier origins. The building is constructed of brick, which is rendered and colour-washed to resemble timber framing, and features a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys high and has four bays arranged in a 1:1:2 pattern, with an additional lower bay on the right side.
The entrance consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels, topped by an overlight, and is flanked by canted bay windows that contain sash windows with glazing bars. The right bay features a panelled door with an overlight and a sash window with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars above the canted bays, while other areas have sliding sash windows with glazing bars. The building has external and axial stacks and raised gables. The additional bay on the right has a canted bay similar to the three in the main block.
