Description
Barmbyfield House is a house from the early 18th century located on Keldspring Lane in Barmby Moor. It is constructed of red brick that has been rendered and colour-washed, with a Roman tile roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. It features rusticated quoins, with the centre bay slightly projecting forward. This bay contains a four-panel door with an overlight, framed by paired attached columns that support a segmental pediment decorated with semi-abstract floral pargetting. The windows are two-pane sashes with sills beneath wedge lintels, and there is a band at the first-floor level. The first floor also has three similar sashes. The house has a stepped brick eaves cornice, end stacks, and raised coped gables with shaped kneelers. Inside, there is an early 19th-century cut-string staircase with turned balusters and a ramped moulded handrail, which terminates in a heavy turned and fluted newel from an early 18th-century staircase.
