Description

Sarum House is an early to mid-18th century house located on the north side of Northgate, Cottingham. The house is constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof. It has a plinth and is arranged over two storeys, with four bays. The front features a four-panel door set within a pilastered doorcase. To the left of the door is a four-pane sash window, and to the right, a two-pane sash window, with both set under segmental brick arches. A first-floor band incorporates pilasters and quoins. The first floor has four ten-pane unequal sash windows, also under segmental brick heads. A stepped brick eaves cornice runs along the top, with tumbled brick detailing to the raised gables. An end stack is located on the right-hand side.
