Description

29 Bridgegate is a shop with a dwelling above, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has two bays. The late 19th-century shop front includes a central four-pane window flanked by doors; the left door has four panels with an overlight, while the right door is half-glazed with an overlight. The façade is enhanced by panelled pilaster strips with scrolled consoles that support dosserets, a frieze, and a cornice. The first and second floors have four-pane sash windows set beneath flat brick arches. The guttering is supported by paired brackets, and the roof is hipped with an end stack. This building is included for its group value.
