Description

Burlington Row consists of six almshouses founded in 1680 by Richard Boyle, the 2nd Earl of Cork and 1st Earl of Burlington, and his wife, Lady Elizabeth Clifford, to provide housing for twelve poor individuals. The building is constructed of red brick with a pantiled roof and features an E-shaped plan, where the end bays and the center two bays project, each covered by a separate hipped roof. It is a single-storey structure with eight bays. The windows have 20th-century glazed doors and casements with glazing bars, all set beneath flat gauged brick arches. There are axial stacks and hipped roofs.
