Description

Nos 36 and 38 on Railway Street, dated 1849, are located on a corner site with Trinity Lane. The building is three storeys high, constructed of painted brick, featuring a canted corner and a low hipped slate roof with very shallow flat eaves supported by spaced brackets. There is a cill band at the first floor level.

The Railway Street elevation has four windows on the second floor, with the two central windows placed closely together. The first floor has three tall windows, one of which is blocked, and the ground floor has three recessed sash windows with flat arches, while the upper floors have glazing bars. There is a small modern doorway. Above the doorway, the corner is blind and features a dentil cornice with a modern door.

The south front facing Trinity Lane has three windows, with the centre window on the first floor containing a stair light that interrupts the returned cill band. This window has a semi-circular head with a marginal and intersecting glazing pattern. A glazed modern door is located in the centre of the ground floor.
