Description

  1. 5268 SEWERBY ROAD (South Side) Cemetery Lodge TA 1868 16/283 II GV 2. Circa 1880. Architect,Alfred Smith of Nottingham. Polychrome Gothic. 2 storeys. Steep fish scale slate roof with hexagonal paired and triple chimneys. Iron finials to gable ends. Stone dressings to windows. Yellow, red and vitrified brick bands, some chequer work. Porch in angle has columned doorway, foliated capitals, and hipped roof with iron finial, Gable to road has 1 blocked Window under dripmould and 1 window of 3 lights, the 2 outer being taller and round-arched, under gablets, foliated capitals to mullions. Ground floor has 1 window of 3 lights, the centre light taller, under gable, similar carved mullions. The left-hand wing has 1 window of 2 lights in reveal, with carved surround, and a 2-light window to ground floor. Door with iron hinges. Plinth.
