Description

The Lodge is a building located on Earley Whiteknights Road, likely designed by Waterhouse in a Neo-Gothic style around 1868. It is constructed of red brick with dark brick bands and stone dressings, topped with a fishscale slate roof. The building has one and a half storeys, featuring roofs with stone coped gabled parapets that include kneelers and finials. A large central brick chimney stack with original clay pots is present, along with a smaller west gable stack that projects from the wall.

The fenestration is irregular on both storeys, with casement windows on the ground floor and sash windows above, all featuring central stone mullions. There is a square bay at the angle of the east wing, which has a stone tile hipped roof. The doorway is located on the right side of the north gable end and is framed by a stone pointed, moulded arch surround. It has a plain boarded door and a drip mould with foliage label stops above. To the right of the door, there is a small buttress topped with small stone twin gablets that feature cusped detail.
