Description
Wansford Mill and the adjoining Mill Farmhouse are a late 18th-century water-mill and farmhouse located in Skerne. The mill is constructed of brick in English garden wall bond and is whitewashed, topped with a pantiled roof. It has two storeys and attics, with a roughly square layout. The mill features a boarded door on the right and a 20th-century window on the left. There is a 6-pane window with a segmental head on the first floor, a stepped brick eaves cornice, an end stack on the right, and plain close verges. The interior has been stripped of its machinery and the undershot wheel, which was previously located in the chamber to the left.
The farmhouse is also two storeys and consists of three bays with a symmetrical elevation. It has a 20th-century door and glazing throughout, with wedge lintels above the ground floor windows. There is an end stack and plain close verges. The farmhouse is included for group value considerations with the mill.
