Description
Welton Hill is a house built around 1830, constructed of white brick with slate roofs. It has two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay elevation. The entrance features a glazed and panelled door with a fanlight that has radial glazing in the panelled soffit and reveals, sheltered by a Tuscan porch. On either side of the door are 15-pane unequal sash windows with sills and cambered, channelled, wedge lintels that have raised keyblocks. On the first floor, there are three similar sash windows with glazing bars. The eaves cornice is supported by paired brackets, and there is a stack at one end.
The garden front, located to the left, features two canted bays that rise through the full height of the house. On the ground floor, there are 15-pane unequal sash windows with sills under cambered, channelled, wedge lintels with raised keyblocks, and the first floor has similar sash windows with glazing bars. A low coped parapet supports latticed cast-iron railings. There is a late 19th-century extension to the north that is not of special interest.
