Description
The K8 telephone kiosk, designed by Bruce Martin and introduced in 1968, is located near the Elloughton and Brough War Memorial at the junction of Skillings Lane and Welton Road.
This kiosk features a square plan and is set on a concrete base. It is constructed from six cast iron parts and has an aluminium door. Three sides, including the door, are fitted with large sheets of toughened glass in rectangular frames with rounded corners. The rear panel has a blind rectangular frame with rounded corners, below which is an attached cast iron manufacturer's plaque that is illegible. The flat roof dome has rectangular framed signage panes with rounded corners, each glazed with toughened glass and displaying the word TELEPHONE on a white background. The kiosk is painted cream.
