Description
Church Farmhouse is a house located on Church Lane in Elloughton. It is probably from the 17th century but was remodeled in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed oolitic limestone rubble with brick dressings and has a pantiled roof. Originally, it likely had a centre lobby-entry plan, but it now features a direct-entry plan. The house has two storeys and a five-window front. The entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door set in a timber architrave, which is flanked on the left by three sashes with glazing bars and sills under timber lintels, and on the right by a single, similar sash. The first floor has five matching sashes. The left gable is raised and coped, while the right has plain close verges, and there are end and axial stacks. Inside, there is a large inglenook fireplace with a steeply cambered reused timber bressumer.
