Description

This is a terrace of six houses located on Windy Bank in Bebington, Port Sunlight. They were built in 1902 by Grayson and Ould. The houses are constructed with roughcast rendering on a brick base, with tile hanging to the gables and a hipped tile roof. They are arranged as one storey with an attic, and consist of seven bays. The second bay projects forward under a gable, and the end bay breaks forward under its own gable. A tile canopy is supported by braced posts and features a small gablet above each of the third, fourth, and fifth bays. The windows are mostly small-paned casements, many of three lights. The second bay has a four-light ground floor window and a first-floor four-light canted bay window with a roughcast base and a tile canopy that sweeps outward from the tile hanging. The entrances have leaded lights; the second bay's entrance is flanked by porches sheltered by the gable's roof and featuring balustrades. There are two cross-axial chimneys, one sloping to the left of the second bay, and another lateral stack on the left return. The right return features a projecting gabled bay with a brick break-forward, housing an entrance and flanking windows, all under a canopy. The rear elevation is similar and includes dormers and privies.
