Description

Ten houses, built between 1900 and 1901 by Wilson and Talbot, as part of the Port Sunlight model village. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings, incorporating some timber framing, and have tile roofs. They are two storeys high, with five bays each, and extend to The Causeway. The first bay of each row projects and is topped with a shaped gable, featuring a ball finial. Brick diapering is present on the facade. The ground floor windows are four-light ovolo-mullioned, with drip moulds and leaded glazing. The first floor windows are three-light, with those in the second to fifth bays set within paired gables. The entrances feature decorated gables with drip moulds, leading to six-panel doors with three elliptical-headed lights. There are two chimney stacks positioned across the facade and one to the right of the projecting first bay. The left return has a gablet, while the right return exhibits timber framing. The facade facing The Causeway is similar, with the first bay incorporating timber-framed construction on the first floor and a jettied gable. The second and third bays project with paired gablets, while the fourth bay has a shaped gable. The fifth bay features a timber-framed first floor. A four-light canted oriel window is situated on the first floor of the first bay. Stacks project on return elevations. Rainwater heads are dated 1900. The rear elevation is similar, featuring small-panel casement windows and privies.
