Description

The Pavilion and Boat House, located on the bank of the east lake in Birkenhead Park, was built around 1843 to 1847. It features ashlar walls and a secondary hipped pantile roof that was added in 2005. The boat house has a segmentally-arched entrance at lake level, flanked by piers and walls leading to steps on either side. Above this, the square pavilion was originally intended to serve as a bandstand. Each face of the pavilion has three segmentally-arched openings that are divided by pilasters.
