Description
A terrace of seven houses, numbered 41 to 53, Pool Bank, situated in Port Sunlight, built between 1898 and 1899 by Grayson and Ould. The houses are constructed of brick with a tile half-hipped roof. They are one storey high with an attic, arranged over seven bays, with the end and central bays projecting forward under shaped gables. A weathered sill band and cornice run above the ground floor, and the gables are stone-coped, with brick quoins to the first floor of the gabled bays. Windows have gauged-brick flat arches and leaded casements. The ground floor windows are three-light with transoms and a central round-arched feature. The first-floor windows are of three lights, except for the central bay, which has a four-light window with a datestone, "A1898D," above it. Dormers with tile hanging are present above the second, third, fifth, and sixth bays. The entrances have gauged-brick flat arches and doors with small-paned lights. Four cross-axial stacks are present. The rear elevation is similar, incorporating dormers and privies.
