Description
This is a terrace of seven houses located on New Chester Road, Bebington, built in 1897 by Ernest George and Yeates as part of the Port Sunlight estate. The houses are constructed with a roughcast finish on a brick base, topped with a hipped tile roof. They are arranged as a main block of three bays, with two-bay re-entrant wings.
The brick base extends up to sill level, with a first-floor sill band and a dentilled cornice along the top. The windows are leaded casements; ground-floor windows have cornices. A prominent central gabled bay window rises two storeys. Ground-floor windows have five lights, while returns have two and four-light windows, and the ends have three-light windows. First-floor windows are arranged as four, five, and four lights, with return windows of three and five lights respectively. The entrances are protected by flat canopies, some paired, and feature four-panel doors with leaded lights. A central chimney stack has round-headed panels. Four smaller lateral chimney stacks are positioned on the returns. The rear of the terrace is similarly constructed, including privies.
