Description
Gorsehill Water Tower is a stone water tower built between 1902 and 1905. It features an octagonal shape with a flanking octagonal turret. The base is battered and rusticated, with angle pilaster strips. The tower has a corbelled cornice and a top stage that includes a cornice, a deep parapet, and a double-stepped embattled parapet. The turret is similar in design but taller. The entrance is round-headed and consists of two orders with paired four-panel doors. There are tall paired round-headed lights with roll-moulded surrounds and two rusticated panels. The top stage has three round-headed openings supported by Ionic colonettes. The turret includes a blocked round-headed entrance and two round-headed windows.
