Description
This is a terrace of four houses located at 170-176 New Chester Road, built in 1900 by architect William Owen. The houses are constructed of brick with a pebbledash finish on the first floor and feature tiled roofs. They are two storeys high and consist of two bays with gabled pavilions that have stone coping. The pavilions are adorned with brick decoration on the first floor, and there is a band running between the storeys.
The windows are 4-light small-paned casements with deep cornices. The ground floor windows are canted oriels, while the first-floor windows have brick quoins. The central bays feature windows in raking half dormers that have altered glazing bars. The entrances have segmental heads and plank doors, with two entrances located on the inner returns. The houses have a central cross-axial stack and outer return lateral stacks. The rear of the houses is similar to the front, with small-paned casements and privies.
